The season of appetite has arrived! From late October to early May, the Seto Inland Sea coast near Himeji Castle is in peak oyster season. After exploring the castle, why not enjoy freshly grilled or raw oysters and other seafood delicacies at a charming seaside oyster hut?

Deep Himeji Stories: Tyron and Gwlie from the US Explore Castle, Kokoen Garden, Tea Ceremony, Sushi Benkei, Murotsu Museum and Kajiroku Standing Bar

🌧️ Despite the rain, we welcomed Tyron and Gwlie from the U.S. off their cruise ship at Himeji Port. Far from being discouraged, their positive spirit made the day special as we explored the serene beauty of Himeji Castle 🏯 and the gardens of Koko-en 🌿, beautifully enhanced by the rain.

At Koko-en, they enjoyed a traditional tea ceremony 🍵, followed by a visit to the Murotsu Folk Museum, where they discovered the lifestyle of wealthy merchants in this historic port town ⛩️.

To end the day, we headed to “Kajiroku,” a cozy standing bar 🍶 in Aboshi, where they savored local sake and the friendly atmosphere. Finally, we returned them to their cruise ship 🚢.

It was such a joy guiding this wonderful couple — their positivity made the whole tour a truly heartwarming experience 😊.
