The season of appetite has arrived! From late October to early May, the Seto Inland Sea coast near Himeji Castle is in peak oyster season. After exploring the castle, why not enjoy freshly grilled or raw oysters and other seafood delicacies at a charming seaside oyster hut?

Deep Himeji Stories: Richard & Sue’s Two-Day Journey from Los Angeles to Himeji & Kyoto

From Los Angeles 🇺🇸 Richard & Sue Binder joined us for two wonderful days, stepping off the Celebrity Millennium docked at Tempozan Port 🚢.

Richard, full of energy, explored actively with his camera in hand 📸, while Sue watched over him with gentle smiles 💞—such a lovely couple! During their journey, they even connected with their family back in the U.S. for Labor Day 🇺🇸, making the experience even more special ✨.

🌸 Day 1: They explored the majestic Himeji Castle 🏯 and the tranquil beauty of Koko-en Garden 🍃.
🍤 Day 2: After visiting Nijo Castle, we enjoyed an exceptional tempura set meal at Tenki—the first restaurant in Japan to serve tempura as a full course. It was simply delicious! 😋 The serene gardens hidden deep inside Unagi-no-Nedoko 🌿 offered a truly authentic Japanese atmosphere. Later, they admired the architectural beauty of Kinkaku-ji ✨ and Nishi Hongan-ji ⛩️, immersing themselves in Kyoto’s timeless elegance.

Despite the intense summer heat ☀️, Richard and Sue enjoyed Himeji and Kyoto with great spirit. I feel truly grateful 🙏 to have shared these memorable days with them 💖.
