The season of appetite has arrived! From late October to early May, the Seto Inland Sea coast near Himeji Castle is in peak oyster season. After exploring the castle, why not enjoy freshly grilled or raw oysters and other seafood delicacies at a charming seaside oyster hut?

Deep Himeji Stories: Margaret Sheekey from UK Discover Himeji Castle and Mt. Shosha

I had the pleasure of guiding Ms. Margaret, a doctor visiting from the UK 🇬🇧.
Traveling alone, she was enjoying a brief escape from her busy daily life 🩺➡️🌿, savoring moments of peace and richness.

After exploring Himeji Castle 🏯 and Koko-en Garden 🌸, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the vegetarian café Kotonaki 🥗☕.

In the afternoon, we headed to Mount Shosha ⛰️, veiled in gentle rain 🌧️. Amid the deep greenery 🌳 and silence of this thousand-year-old mountain, we walked slowly, feeling the presence of its timeless history ⏳✨.
